Pain Pain Go Away!!!

Gout

Gout is a form of arthritis that occurs when uric acid builds up in the blood causing joint inflammation. It causes swelling, redness, stiffness and pain on affected joints. In many people, gout initially affects the joint of the big toe. Ankles, heels, knees, wrists, fingers and elbows can also be affected. Controlling the intake of purine-rich foods (metabolized into uric acid in the body) is important in reducing the reoccurrence of a gout attack.
  • Avoid high-purine food
  • Seafood such as crabs, prawns and scallops
  • Red meats such as beef and mutton
  • Organ meat
  • Soup stock
  • Eat less moderate-purine food
  • Mushrooms, spinach and asparagus
  • Peanuts, beans and peas
  • Chiku and custard apples
  • Soy bean products such as bean curd and soy drinks
  Suggested:
  • Drink sufficient plain water of at least 2.5liter per day to flush out the uric acid sufficiently
  • Avoid alcohol as it will promote uric acid crystallization at joints
  • Keep your weight in check
